OS is on Vacation until 2012!

Just adding a little update for those of you who read the blog... :)  We're officially on our "vacation" and anticipating the OS Reboot in 2012!  Bassist auditions are still underway as we're trying to get everyone scheduled in and tested... Hmm, sounds weird.. oh well. LMBO!

We recently played at the Fuse Retreat near West Harrison, Ohio... 3 days of Praise and Worship!! It was a great God-filled weekend and we met some really awesome young men on fire for the Lord!!!

We've only been off for about a month, and I feel like it's been 10 years!!! C'mon February!!!!

You guys rock!!!  See you SOOOOOON!!!!

Real Strength

"Courage is going from failure to failure without losing enthusiasm" Great quote for today. I'm sure Edison and many others would agree. It's not how many times you get knocked down in life, it's how many times you get back up. I've personally failed at so many things I'd hate to even try to count. But, I'm reminded of one of my favorite scriptures Philippians 4:13. “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Hopefully at one point (or several for some folks) in your life you will get to a defining moment where you realize that you cannot do this thing called life on your own. At that point is where you need to give everything over to Christ and ask Him for His strength to help you through. I personally think that these defining moments are Gods way of pointing things out to us both, good and bad. Unfortunately some people just don't get it and curse God when things go wrong and pat themselves on the back when things go right. It should always be the other way around. Give thanks to God when things are well and ask for His strength when things are bad. That's real strength.

M.F.S. Report: The 2011 Outbreak of Melted Face Syndrome

Destination: Linton, Indiana

Next stop, Linton Indiana on the night of April 15th...

Each of us will be traveling a different road to get to Linton.  Dan and I will be traveling south on 231 while Mark, Tony, and Jacker might be hitting I-65.  Different paths with the same destination and goal.  It is always a special occurance when we stand together for the victory of a greater goal; to fulfill the Lord's calling and purpose, as we here in OS continue to pursue. 

It's not about making great music with some great guys.  It's not about how many faces we can melt off.  It's not about how many T-shirts we sell.  The truth is, God makes the difference in everything.  Each of us have been through our own messes.  The two sided roads in our pasts have either included God, or not.  The road without God is filled mith many more holes, is very dark, has no lighting, and you can't see where you're going.  We are 5 voices of experience.  We are 5 brothers who are stepping out onto a stage and proclaiming what God can do, if you allow Him.  We are 5 musicians stepping into the outer sanctum and going after the hearts of those that have been abandoned by those that loved them, who have been tortured with sadness, and daring to stand before those that want nothing to do with God to show as much of His light as possible.  When the curtain is finally drawn at the end of the night, our greater goal; our main objective that we wish to reach is this.  You are worth much more than you could ever... possibly... know... no matter the circumstances, the difficulties, the heartbreaks, the pain.  God wants YOU!

"Sometimes the questions are complicated and the answers are simple" - Dr. Suess. How very true. But, simple doesn't always mean easy.

I really enjoyed reading this today. "Love me when I least deserve it, because that's when I really need it." Swedish Proverb. The most amazing thing is this is what is given to you freely through Jesus Christ. Unconditional love. You will always have something to hold on to when everything and everyone else is gone. Amazing.

Rewind

We played the Rewind last night in Bloomington, IN. First off I would like to thank everyone who came out to see OS. It was great to meet all of you. Some of you saw us last year when we played in Bloomington. Just an FYI we'll be back in Bloomington April 30th to play at the Video Saloon. I guess there is something to be said about playing smaller venues, but I just can't think of what it is right now.

Philippians 4:13

This is probably one of my favorite quotes from the bible. I think it is because it just reminds me that no matter what obstacle I face with God on my side nothing can stop me from achieving what I set out to achieve. There have been times when all I could do was to say "God it's in your hands because I have nothing more to give." It can be quite a relief in letting things go and trusting in God to work things out as they may. Not that one is giving up with an apathetic attitude but rather putting it at the feet of God and entrusting Him to take a care of it as He sees fit. Which I think is what He wants.

What an absolutely gorgeous day in Indiana today.  I love Spring time.  Everything is coming to life again.  *Big Sigh*  Winter is fading fast and everyday brings us a little closer to warmer weather.

Breaking Through

A question that I have heard in various forms lately has been, "when are you guys coming to ______".  From California to Maine to even the Tsunami devastated battlefront in Japan, the OS buzz is sweeping the nation and beyond.  So in these beginning stages of OS playing our home state of Indiana, we are certainly believing that in God's timing, OS will be dropping by your neck of the woods.

So until that time, when the enemy gets you down, clench that RAWKfist of yours, throw it into the air and stand your ground!  You ARE worth so much more than you will ever know!

Upcoming Gig

Last weeks gig at the Earth House was awesome!  What a great time.  We have another gig this Saturday at the Rewind in Bloomington, IN.  Show starts at 7pm.  There are a few other bands playing with us like End of Me, My Heart Remains, The Edge and of course OS.  Never played there so we'll see.  Should be a lot of fun though.  Our shows usually are.  So, if you're in the Bloomington, IN area Saturday and you want to check out some live Christian rock stop by the Rewind.
